Certified Crazy For: Alexander Wang

If I had to pick, gun to head, two colors to wear for the rest of my life they'd be black or grey. They can be dressed up or down; they're sexy and urban and are appropriate for anything. And if I had to pick one designer to wear in these colors, it would be Alexander Wang.

This man's collections have left me salivating every season since he launched his first full collection in 2007. Seriously, the man's a genius. And he's only 25.

The thing I think I love most about him is the fact that he's able to turn the most basic things - dark colors, t-shirts, sweatshirts - into something ridiculously chic. He was also WAY ahead of his time, designing masculine silhouettes for women before it was even considered a trend.

Here is just a sampling of a few pieces of his that I'm currently eyeing and would probably punch someone for:

Donna Washed Hobo

Oversized Sweater with mesh black

Classic Dress

Motorcycle Jacket

Slinky Wrap Skirt

Fallie Dress with Ottoman Rib

And now I must go because I'm all hot and bothered. Look at that last dress!! Perfection...

Until next time, my sweets.

J'adore Pre-Fall [2010]

Summer is my favorite time of year, except when it comes to fashion. There's nothing I love more than knit sweaters and hats, thick scarves and the perfect pair of boots. Winter and fall will always have a special place in my heart because of the clothes that come along with it.

So when designers start showing their pre-fall collections, I start salivating. This season was no different. Designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander Wang and Donna Karan started pre-season off with incredible collections that have me wishing that winter will last just a little longer. Here are a few of my favorite looks from some of the designers who have already debuted their fall collections.

Alexander Wang
If there's one thing I love about Alexander Wang, it's his simple color palette. He always bases his pieces around the colors black, grey and white. I'm obsessed with this first jacket. The sleeves are two different textures and I love the layering of the knitting that drapes down the front.

Chanel
Karl Lagerfeld may very well be a genius. His Paris-Shanghai collection is the most beautiful display of East-Meets-West fashion I've ever seen. His ability to combine two seemingly different ideas - the cold, modern, urban coloring of Shanghai and the classically sophisticated French suit is breathtaking. I also love the heavy use of hardware by way of big buttons and metallic accents.

Diane von Furstenberg
There wasn't as much versatility in DVF's collection as I had hoped, but that doesn't make it any less breathtaking. Wouldn't you just love to throw on this pantsuit with a pair of stilettos? What really made this collection was the outerwear. DVF showcased tweed three-quarter length jackets and the plaid blanket jacket pictured bellow. Don't it just make you feel all warm and fuzzy?

Donna Karan
It was hard to pick just four looks I liked from Donna Karan's collection. Her use of color was outstanding: olives, heaths, and plum were the staples of this collection. What Karan does best is dresses. The second dress is simple yet gorgeous with a delicious olive hue. And the last gown pictured is just... wow. Karan artfully creates gowns that drape in just a way that's dainty yet trendy.

Michael Kors
While I'm more a fan of Michael Kors' shoe lines, his pre-fall collection was so diverse I couldn't look away. From bold colors, like this red fur vest, to neutrals, like that beautifully draped skirt, Kors covered all of his bases.

Versace
I love how consistent Donatella Versace stays with her lines. Like her spring collection, pre-fall is tight and full of leg. As a breath of fresh air, she utilized deep neons and playful brights, bringing a bit of spring in the drab days of winter and fall. And doesn't that rain coat make you totally excited for rainy days?

So there's my two cents. But what were your favorite looks from pre-fall thus far? What do you think of my favorites? I'd love to hear from you, dearies!
Until next time...
